We’ve never liked to follow

What began as a one-woman mission quickly evolved into a growing, full-service organisation.

From day one, we challenged the rules, aligned ourselves with likeminded innovative providers, created our own model of care and
changed how we serviced our participants - because the current system wasn’t working, and we weren’t willing to wait.

We asked questions

A woman with short brown hair, wearing a sleeveless cream-colored ribbed top and loose cream-colored trousers, sitting on a cabinet with her legs crossed, writing in a small notebook with a black pen against a plain white wall background.

Kezia Kingston, founder of Staying Independent, asks the “why”questions. As she saw it, the NDIS didn’t make sense.

After working in public health and the disability sector for many years, Kezia saw the same story playing out again and again - slow processes, disconnected services, and participants left waiting while providers navigated the black hole of NDIS. It wasn’t just inefficient, it was a mystery.

So, with no clients, no staff, and no office - she decided to quit her job and build her company.

Known for her obsessive work ethic, Kezia created:
the Integrated Care Model™ - a system designed to simplify, align, and accelerate support for NDIS participants and families. She then built a dynamic team of likeminded staff.

What Makes Us Different

We don’t replicate what already existed.
We reimagined what disability support could be.

We built our own model of care, that has received international recognition for healthcare innovation.

We only take referrals if we have the right therapist, capacity, and expertise to create the best possible therapeutic relationship and support for the participant.

We’re selective with our team. Every staff member must align with our ethos, standards, and commitment to improving the sector not just existing.

We’re the Most Awarded Healthcare Provider in Asia-Pacific (2025) at the International Stevie® Business Awards.

Where we’re headed.

Staying Independent is changing the way we collaborate and care for NDIS participants. We will continue to grow and care for our staff and clients, and keep redefining what’s possible in the NDIS.
