That Expo Stand
Written by Kezia
Once upon a time I worked in advertising and marketing and always enjoyed seeing what campaigns the clients would being to the agency. The clever creatives would then come up with these amazing campaigns to launch a new product or service to market. I loved the build up and excitement.
Fast forward, I now work in disability. And i’ve been wondering why we don’t do campaigns. Why do we look exactly the same as everyone else at networking events or expos. I decided i’d had enough and i’d do a campaign for our first effort at the Sydney Disability Expo in May this year.
I started with the brief I wrote to myself. Worked out what was the purpose. Why it was important. Goals of the expo. How we were going to make it happen on a shoe string budget. And how was I going to convince my team it was a good idea.
The conversation with the team started with… "“So i’ve got this idea. Hear me out before you think it’s totally crazy!”
