Purpose of the Functional Capacity Assessment
A Functional Capacity Assessment ensures everyone in your life—including your NDIS supports, family, and carers—understands how you’re progressing. These reports are often used to apply for the NDIS, prepare for a review, or provide a clear measure of how things are going.
Clear and Compliant Reports
The report highlights difficulties caused by your NDIS-recognised disability, using standardised assessments to ensure accuracy. All recommendations comply with the NDIS “Reasonable and Necessary” criteria, justifying proposed therapy plans, services, and supports.
Evidence-Based Practice
We use published research to support recommendations, showing why they are effective, reasonable, and necessary. By linking evidence to your assessment, we strengthen your case for NDIS funding.
Logistics
These reports are detailed, often 30–40 pages, and take time to complete. We aim to accommodate clients, especially when urgent deadlines arise, but thorough preparation is key to meeting NDIS standards.
Your Initial Assessment
No preparation is needed for your first assessment. It’s a relaxed process, usually at your home, where we’ll learn about your daily life and goals. If you’d like a parent, carer, friend, partner, cat, dog, or even a bird present for the assessment, no problem! Just let us know in advance if possible. Our role is to understand your needs and help you achieve greater independence through tailored solutions.
