Supporting our Mental Health Clients
We recognise the profound impact mental health has on people’s lives and those around them. While not all individuals with a mental health diagnosis are eligible for NDIS supports, the NDIS acknowledges Psychosocial Disability as a condition that significantly impacts a person’s ability to participate in everyday activities.
Mental health is often invisible and difficult to generalise, as each person’s experience is so unique. At Staying Independent, we have the expertise to empathise, manage, advocate, and support our clients as effectively as possible within the resources and supports available.
We understand that capacity and function can fluctuate significantly, and we ride the ups and downs alongside our guys, adapting our approach to meet their changing needs.
Some of our participants have very complex mental health conditions that other providers may not feel comfortable taking on due to the nature of their symptoms, variability, and the stigma and societal judgement that unfortunately still exists.
We don’t. These clients have a safe space with us.
